About

Dr. Jennifer Marson-Reed completed her undergraduate studies at Lake Superior State University, graduating with a B.A. in Sociology, with a focus on International Relations. She earned her M.A. in Sociology from Central Michigan University and Ph.D. in Sociology with emphasis in Criminology from Western Michigan University.  Jennifer joined the School of Criminal Justice in the fall of 2018. Prior to coming to GVSU, Jennifer was an Assistant Professor at Fayetteville State University. 

Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband Dale, son Boone, and dog Roosevelt.

Research Interests 

Dr. Marson-Reed's research interests center on the notion of "justice," what justice is and how it is obtained.  More specifically, justice and reconciliation following mass atrocity, international crime and restorative justice, inequality within the criminal justice system, and wrongful convictions.
