The following section consist of the Applied Food & Nutrition (AFN) prerequisite courses. If you have not completed a course, you will be asked to indicate how you intend to complete each outstanding course to the best of your ability.

Any applicant not able to complete the prerequisite courses prior to the fall start of the program should contact the College of Health Professions Student Services Office (CHPSSO) to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor.

The Applied Food & Nutrition (AFN) program recommends the completion of the "Foundations" general education courses prior to the Fall start of the program.

Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA): Students that have attended a Michigan Community College and have met specific course requirements as outlined by their community college may be eligible for the MTA stamp. GVSU will award credit for the General Education Foundations and 1-SWS upon successful completion of the MTA and the receipt of an official community college transcript bearing the MTA credential. If you are unsure of how this process works please contact the records office at your Michigan community college for further assistance.
