Emily Dexter, Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing

What projects did you take part in during your internship?

During my internship, I worked on several validation and sterility assurance projects within GRAM’s GMP manufacturing environment. One of my primary projects involved compiling and analyzing historical APS (media fill) data from multiple fill lines to investigate an observed issue with the media fill process. This work supported a CAPA investigation by helping identify potential contributing factors and informing future validation activities. I also independently coordinated with external contract companies across multiple time zones to support AFV (smoke study) activities, assisted hands-on with a client requested smoke study in a Grade A aseptic manufacturing environment, and drafted the associated study report.

How did you get the internship?

I first learned about the internship through a connection who had previously interned at GRAM and recommended that I reach out to a recruiter at the company. I contacted the recruiter via LinkedIn in February and requested an introductory meeting and information about the positions available. After learning more about the opportunity and going through the simple application and interview process, I was excited to join GRAM as an intern for the summer.
