What projects did you take part in during your internship?
During my summer internship at GRAM, I worked with the Environmental Health and Safety team. I took on two main projects, which consisted of inventorying the retained samples and ensuring they were packaged based on chemical compatibility. I also worked on updating their first aid cabinets throughout all of GRAM's facilities. To accomplish the goals of my projects, I worked alongside the chemists, quality control, and quality assurance team. My day-to-day work also included assisting the EHS team with waste handling and lab packing.
How did you get the internship?
I initially learned about the position at GRAM through the Handshake app and applied by submitting my resume. HR later followed up with me through a phone call and briefly discussed my educational background and why I am interested in the position. I was invited on-site for an interview with the EHS senior manager and the EHS specialist II. During the interview, they discussed my future career goals, the skills I could bring to the team, and what I hoped to gain from the internship experience.
