Graduation & Program Completion Requirements

Upon successful completion, this program awards a Master of Science degree and a verification statement that provides eligibility to sit for the registration exam leading to the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential. For more information regarding the examination, refer to the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) website at www.cdrnet.org

The verification statement is granted only under the following circumstances:

  1. The graduate student has demonstrated competence as an entry-level practitioner through the maintenance of a 3.0 or higher overall GPA in graduate courses and satisfactory completion of all scheduled supervised practice rotations with a 6 or better, on a 9 point scale for all competencies.
  2. The graduate student has maintained the professional and ethical code of conduct is expected.
  3. The graduate student has met all financial obligations to GVSU.
  4. The graduate student has completed:
    1. The Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Registration Eligibility Process (REP)
    2. Application to graduate; graduation audit (GVSU)
    3. Requested final transcript be sent to the Program Director, after the transcript reveals the awarded degree date
    4. RDE Misuse Policy
