Community Partnerships
Partner with the CLAS Center for Experiential Learning
We connect community organizations with GVSU students and faculty for hands-on projects, internships, and collaborations that make an impact. Let’s work together to learn, serve, and grow.
Connecting Learning with Community Impact
CLAS students are making a difference across West Michigan through our new Community-Based Learning (CBL) Work-Study pilot — blending education with purpose.
Thanks to support from the CLAS Dean’s Office, students are gaining valuable career experience while giving back to local organizations.
2024–2025 Highlights:
-
20 students received $1,500 each to support unpaid internships.
-
63 applicants, 11 placements, and 1,146 hours of community work completed.
-
Real-world learning. Real community impact.
Together, we’re building partnerships that help students grow and strengthen our West Michigan communities.
