The General Fund Budget is typically approved by the Grand Valley State University Board of Trustees each year at the June or July Board Meeting.
On June 22, 2020, the Board of Trustees adopted a spending resolution for 2020-2021, authorizing spending authority at no more than 90 percent of the approved 2019-20 General Fund budget, excluding General Fund financial aid, which may exceed 2019-20 budgeted levels, and without faculty and staff pay raises. This spending resolution will remain in effect until the 2020-2021 budget is adopted at a subsequent Board of Trustees meeting, when levels of state appropriation and enrollment are known.
