Research
Active participation in original research is an enriching component to any undergraduate's career. The opportunities for BMS majors to gain research experience in faculty laboratories are many and varied. To learn more about "who's doing what" in BMS, peruse the descriptions of research in the department by professor or by discipline. Also, every fall the department has a Meet the Faculty event where BMS majors can network and chat with professors about career and research opportunities. Finally, don't hesitate to contact a faculty member directly if you're interested in learning more about what they do and to inquire about possible research opportunities in his/her lab. Depending on the nature of your project, two important resources for undergraduate research at GVSU are: OURS and The McNair program (see below).
