Description
Teaching using opportunities to respond (OTR) involves engaging students by giving them an opportunity to give an active response to an instruction or stimulus cue, which is usually followed by feedback. Students may respond verbally or with gestures, and responses may be given chorally by a group or individually. Research finds several positive outcomes associated with increased OTR including engagement and increased learning success.
