Each year, START invites RCN leaders to submit an application to contract with START to address key START-defined contract priorities within their local region. The deadline for submitting an application for the RCN contract is the last Friday in June, with proposed activities being conducted the following school year. The number and dollar amounts of the RCN contracts entered into by START in any given year is dependent on several factors, including the amount of the START Project grant awarded by the Michigan Department of Education Office of Special Education (MDE OSE).
