Grand Valley State University (GVSU) holds the second largest art collection in the state of Michigan. Artwork is thoughtfully incorporated into every university building, creating a virtually borderless museum that spans all of our beautiful campuses. The GVSU Art Gallery team empowers our community to engage with visual narratives that align with university values through diverse exhibitions, learning events, resources, and unparalleled access to art.
We believe that visual art-viewing experiences have the power to spark conversations, action, and reflection on core themes of social justice, human rights, and empathy that align with the university's philosophy of liberal education.

What We Do
Search the art collection online, browse artwork by academic topic, or locate artwork by building. Learn how our highly trained staff follow nationally recognized standards for art handling and care.
Each semester we activate our galleries with temporary exhibitions, as well as curate art in select spaces integrated into campus buildings.
We present events, activities, and resources related to exhibitions and art on campus. We also collaborate with departments and individual faculty to develop additional opportunities.
Have you noticed damage to an artwork on campus? Planning a department redesign? We can help! Please use our Help Center for all art-related orders, including, but not limited to, placing new art, moving existing art, removing or fixing damaged art, frames, or labels.
To create a work order, use any of the following methods;
