Ellen spent most of her time in Alaska at the Atqasuk sites during the 2016 field season as an undergraduate student. For her independent project she examined differences in growth between graminoids.

Ellen studied natural resources management and mathematics. She graduated from GVSU in December of 2018. She plans to attend graduate school to attain a degree in Quantitative Ecology.

Ellen hopes to pursue a career in quantitative ecology and conservation.
