Professional innovation is designed for individuals who have completed or are nearing completion of an associate degree and wish to enhance their technical skills with a bachelor's degree.

Students in the professional innovation program will engage in a variety of courses that enhance their technical expertise and broaden their professional competencies. Core courses include "Person and Profession in a Global Environment," "Concepts in Learning Integration," and options for quantitative reasoning such as "Visualization of Data and Information" or "Introductory Applied Statistics." Additionally, students can choose from a range of emphasis areas, including leadership, digital data, and design, to customize their learning experience.

To be admitted, students need to meet Grand Valley State University’s minimum requirements for transfer student admissions and have completed or be in their last semester of an associate of applied science degree, an associate of general studies, an associate of applied arts and science degree, an associate in business degree, or similar technical applied degrees.
