Grand Valley's combined degree programs offer current qualified undergraduate students the opportunity to complete both an undergraduate and graduate degree, meeting unique personal, academic, and career goals. A combined degree can reduce the cost and total time required to complete both.

Overview

Grand Valley offers a combined degree program in Allied Health Sciences (B.S.) and Athletic Training (M.A.T.). This accelerated program allows students to complete both degrees efficiently, starting on the Valley Campus in Allendale and continuing on the Health Campus in Grand Rapids.

The curriculum includes courses in Allied Health Sciences and specific M.A.T. courses like Intervention and Referral, Foundational Concepts and Techniques in Athletic Training, and Athletic Training Clinical I. These courses provide a solid foundation in athletic training.

This combined program offers personal attention from faculty, high pass rates on the Board of Certification (BOC) exam, and full accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The program also accelerates career trajectories and provides valuable internship opportunities in the West Michigan area.

Students may apply to the program as early as the start of junior year. Visit the online catalog for more information about admission requirements for the combined bachelor of science in allied health science and masters in athletic training.
