Health Services
The University offers two primary-care alternatives for students, in Allendale and downtown Grand Rapids.

The Campus Health Center, located on the main level of the Fieldhouse is a walk-in clinic designed for the diagnosis and treatment of acute minor illness, injury or accidents for students, faculty and staff. The Campus is staffed daily by a Physician Assistant, RN, LPN and Business Discharge Specialist under the direction of a Board Certified Emergency Physician.

The Family Health Center, located off Fulton - just a few blocks east of the Eberhard - is operated under the direction of the Kirkhof College of Nursing where it serves as a clinic for students, faculty, staff, as well as local community members. Services are provided by Nurse Practitioners, advanced practice registered nurses who have a Master of Science in Nursing Degree and advanced clinical training in a healthcare specialty area. They diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses and provide counseling regarding health promotion and prevention.

Student Insurance

The University has partnered with Student Assurance Services to offer a low cost student insurance plan to “generally healthy” students.  As such, the plan does not cover routine office visits but can be a good option for students.  Please consider how well the policy coverage will meet your specific needs and whether to pursue other insurance options.
