Advising is an integral part of your education. We encourage you to seek the assistance of your campus or program advisor. They will have the information you need to make informed decisions.

Here are some resources to get you started:

Begin by attending orientation
Grand Valley encourages all new students to attend an orientation session. At orientation, advisors are available to assist you in choosing and registering for your classes. Following your acceptance to the University, look for a letter inviting you to attend the Transfer Student Orientation.

Students who are undecided
If you are undecided about your major, the Advising Resource Center will help. You may contact them by phone at (616) 331-3588 or visit their Web site.

Students with a Major or Interest Area
Each major or interest area is different in the way they advise their students. We suggest you contact the major area department for specific advising information.

Students at Regional Campuses
If you are located near a regional center (Holland, Muskgon or Traverse City), an advisor specific to that location is available to help.
