Riverside Park Restoration

Objective

Fish, macroinvertebrates, and water quality sampling was initiated using a protocol similar to the Coastal Wetland Monitoring Program to evaluate the effects of restoration activities in Kirby Bayou at Riverside Park in Ottawa County. This project is a partnership with Ottawa County Parks with the objective of biological monitoring. Restoration activities, which will enhance the connection between the Grand River and Kirby Bayou, are planned for 2019. Pre-restoration sampling was completed in 2018. Post-restoration sampling is planned for 2019 or 2020, depending on when the scheduled restoration actives are completed.
