The purpose of this page is to provide a template for developing the unit and college personnel standards documents as well as providing access to all those that have been approved and are in effect. Access is available to all faculty members, using the GVSU login. The process to approve personnel standards documents is described in Shared Governance Policy SG 1.04. Statement about the UPRC's Review of Personnel Guidelines

As described in BOT policy 4.2.9, the University Personnel Review Committee (UPRC) provides a university-wide review of proposed college and unit personnel standards documents. In its review, the UPRC looks to balance unit and disciplinary culture with factors such as:
- Do the proposed standards satisfy requirements from BOT 4.2.9? Excerpt: "College standards and criteria may be more specific than University standards and criteria, but may not contradict or conflict with them. Unit standards and criteria may be more specific than College standards and criteria, but may not contradict or conflict with them or the University standards and criteria."
- Do the standards reflect any changes in university policy from the past few years?
- How would a new colleague joining a college or unit interpret the text in the document? Is the text sufficiently clear or unnecessarily vague?
- Are there internal inconsistencies in the document, such as text in two different places that are in logical conflict?
- Are there any spelling, grammatical, or formatting errors to be addressed?
- Has the college or unit organized the text, following the required template? Are all GVSU-related terms up to date (e.g., SLT, not PC)?
