Biomedical Science Graduate of Distinction Award
In addition to being one of our outstanding award winners, Alexis has authored a paper on Developing a Transcartohistoriography which was presented at the Midwestern Psychological Association. In May of 2019, Alexis presented at the Michigan Alliance for Reproductive Health and Technologies conference with GVSU faculty member, Dr. Pearl. Alexis, She is also apart of Intersections Ambassadors, Resident & Housing Association, and worked on Abdul El-Sayed Gubernatorial Campaign in 2018.
Benjamin. A Gilman International Scholarship
The Benjamin. A Gilman International Scholarship offers grants for U.S. citizen undergraduate students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies of credit-bearing, career-oriented internships abroad. TRIO STEM is proud to announce that Clara Bernal won this scholarship to allow her to study abroad with the Honors College in Ghana this summer. Congratulations Clara!
2018 Mi-CAPP Student Scholarship Winners
The Mi-CAPP Scholarship Winners this year included two TRIO STEM students: Clara Bernal (left) and Jennifer Hon (right). Jennifer won the Academic Achievement Award and Clara won the Academic Progress Award. The awards were presented at the annual Mi-CAPP Scholarship Awards Banquet during their student leadership conference. This year's conference was held in Battle Creek, Michigan.
