My study abroad experience meant the world to me - it was like waking up in a fairytale everyday. I met so many amazing people, in my program and those who lived in France, and I am still close with many of them even over a year later. I learned so much more than I thought I would - not even in class mostly, it was outside of class during my day-to-day encounters. The experience of living in Europe is almost a 180 difference than living in the US - I didn't drive and got around with public transportation, I walked everywhere, I didn't understand any of the conversation going on around me so it felt like I was in a bubble, I hung all my clothes to dry after washing, and I would shop at markets outside! There's so much more I could say about my day-to-day being completely different than what it is in the states. I loved the experience and four months in my opinion was not enough time. My favorite memories are when my family came to visit me twice and all the amazing food we ate, as well as all the places we traveled to. My favorite thing about being abroad is how incredibly easy it is to travel to different countries - on a bus, on a train, or on a plane. Travel time is nothing compared to what it is in the US so it was very doable. I miss France and my travels immensely, however I do love being home!
