I always knew that I wanted to study abroad when I began college. The most difficult thing for me was deciding where I wanted to go. I knew I wanted to be in a warmer climate and immersed in a culture that I knew nothing about. With the help of the staff in the Padnos center, I decided to go to Florianopolis, Brazil! It’s known as Ihla da Magia (Magical Island) and it truly is! It was the best decision that I made, and I spent my last semester of college here. I learned that anything is possible because I always had doubts about my decision since I’ve never done something like this. I learned so much being in Brazil. Learning Portuguese to learning how to adjust to a new culture, it all made me become more open-minded and independent. I’m so glad that I was able to experience something like this and I highly suggest every student experience academic life in another country because you will not regret it!
