Spotlights
Landon Abbott, Greece
Studying economics in Greece provided a unique insight into the
country's long-standing economic struggles, government tension, and
corruption, all while operating within a strong EU network.
Interacting with and befriending locals revealed how extensively
culture shapes political conversations. I made amazing friends from
all over the US and Athens, which gave me so much clarity on what I
actually want to do with my life, which is to pursue a career in
public economics. Beyond the knowledge I walked away with, the food,
weather, nature, and places I visited are things I still dream about
every day. Greece is so friendly and filled with culture; if you're
debating studying abroad, do it.
P.S. the ISA Athens team,
especially Tess, will act as your parents away from home!
Landon studied at The American College of Greece through ISA (WorldStrides). He majored in Economics and minored in Mathematical Statistics.
