We're here for you.

While stress can provide benefits, it can also affect physical health, emotional wellbeing, and academic success.

It's normal; a lot of students, faculty, and staff experience stress. In fact, 47.3% of GVSU students experienced more than average stress last year, and 32.5% of GVSU students noted that stress impacted academic performance (2018, 29% 2014). In addition, 27% of GVSU students were diagnosed or treated for anxiety (2018,14.9% 2014).*

Recreation & Wellness is here to help. Why? Because we know that exercise may improve sleep, decrease feelings of depression, help protect against feelings of anxiety, and improve focus and productivity... and there are so many ways to exercise. From Fitness & Wellness services, Outdoor Adventures, and Sports Programs to events such as Exam Cram or RecFest, there's something for everyone.
