Involvement
I've had plenty of leadership experience, I was a part of my high
school's Student Council E-board, where I had a role of communication,
and we also presented at MASC/MAHS states two years in a row. I was
also president of the diversity club my senior year, and outside of
school, I was one of the three ambassadors for Junior Leadership
Macomb which I was so proud to be a part of! As of now on Campus at
Delight Ministries, a Christian community of women!
Platform
I want to help positively impact GVSU, I want to represent the
interests and concerns of my fellow student body by giving a voice to
those who may not be heard, To advocate for changes and improvement on
campus, I want to actively engage with the campus community and help
make a difference! To help promote and give visibility to the diverse
student body I would like to build connections and to develop and
showcase leadership skills by taking on responsibilities and initiatives!
Candidate Bio
Hi everyone! My name is Genna Wright and I couldnýt be more excited to
be running for student senate. First I want to share a bit about
myself.. I'm a freshman here at GVSU, and I'm majoring in criminal
justice and minoring in psychology! I am very passionate about making
positive changes on our campus, and as someone who is committed to
fostering inclusivity and student empowerment, I believe in the
importance of active participation in this governing body. With that
being said, I am proud to be running for student senate and a college
representation seat: the College of Education and Community Innovation!
I have lots of impactful leadership and senate-like experience as well
where I've honed my leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. I
served on my high schoolýs E-Board for two years, and I was an appointed
ambassador for Junior Leadership Macomb. I believe this experience makes
me well suited to run for student senate and I hope to make a meaningful
impact on campus in the fall!
