I have been involved in student council in high school as an Executive Officer and understand some of the duties and responsibilities associated with being a senator. I have been in numerous leadership programs that would help be a great senator.

I am running for student senate to help make Grand Valley an inclusive and equal place for every student. I am willing to make changes on campus as any issues arise.

My name is Karen Theakston, I am a second-year student majoring in Psychology and running for a seat at the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS). I have just started my journey in Student Senate and am hoping to continue to expand upon ideas and improve Grand Valley. I am committed to fostering inclusivity and promoting student well-being. I have strong leadership qualities developed by multiple programs and experience from the Student Council in high school that make me a great candidate. I aim to make a positive impact so that every Grand Valley student has a great college experience.
