Outcome AC Performance Pedagogy
Students will demonstrate an understanding of the pedagogical principles
related to their applied area of musical study.
Students will be able to define various teaching methods used in their
applied music field.
Students will be able to identify technical and interpretive problems
specific to their area of applied music performance.
Outcome AD Chamber Music Performance
Students will demonstrate proficiency as performers in the context of
chamber music ensembles.
Students will be able to apply their musical skills to the rehearsal and
performance of chamber music repertoire.
Students will be able to analyze chamber music repertoire and its
technical and performance elements.
Outcome AJ Professional Preparation
BM students will prepare and audition for performance opportunities or
graduate school as appropriate for their future plans upon graduation
from the Bachelor of Music degree.
Students will be able to secure auditions for performance opportunities
and/or graduate school.
Outcome Q Performing skills
Students will demonstrate their skills as successful solo and ensemble performers.
Students will be able to perform as part of an ensemble.

Outcome R Music as an art form
Students will demonstrate understanding of music as an art form in the
contexts of music theory and musical literature.
Students will be able to complete a final written exam in MUS 120,
Survey of Music Literature II.
87% of BM students received a grade of C- or higher on the MUS 120 final
exam. This is below the target of 100% but above the threshold of 75%.
Students will be able to complete a final exam in MUS 231, Music Theory
100% of BM students received grades of C- or higher on their MUS 231
final exams. The target has been met.
Outcome S Communication skills
Students will demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
Students will be able to write a paper including appropriate citations
on a topic related to musical analysis.
93% of BM students received a C or higher on their upper level music
history paper. This is above the threshold, but does not meet the 100%
