This objective was assessed in 13 sections of ECO 210 offered in Fall 2018. The performance of accounting majors enrolled across the 13 sections was isolated for the purposes of this assessment.

Written communication was assessed in ACC 311 in Winter 2017. Average scores ranged from 3.2 to 3.9. Between 88% to 100% of the students sampled performed at level 3 or 4 on a four-point scale rubric suggesting that the changes made after the last assessment were effective.

Objective 3 Students will produce professional quality oral presentations.

Outcome B Functional Business Knowledge

The MFT test by ETS was administered in seven sections of MGT 495 (Capstone) in Winter 2021. 37 BBA-ACC students took the test along with other business majors. Student performance was above the national average and met the established threshold.

The MFT test by ETS was administered in six sections of MGT 495 (Capstone) in Fall 2018. 41 BBA-ACC students took the test along with other business majors. Student performance was mostly satisfactory.

2016 Status

Performance on each question is reported in terms of the percentage of students who answered the question correctly. 48.22% of Seidman business students answered the questions chosen correctly in comparison to 48.04% nationally. Since the scores are reported by item instead of by student the performance of ACC Majors could not be separated from that of non- ACC majors.

Total scores for the Major Field Tests are reported on a scale of 120-200. The average score of ACC majors was 157.8, which was higher than the performance of students at our competitive institutions (average=150.9). In terms of specific discipline areas, the ACC majors performed either at par or better than the competitive group in accounting, economics, finance, marketing, legal & social environment, international business and information systems. The student performance was marginally below the competitive group in management and quantitative business analysis.

Outcome C Informed Decision Making

Objective 1 Students will analyze and integrate the impact of internal strengths and weakness and external opportunities and threats in business decisions.

In this second round of assessment, student performance met or exceeded the established threshold. Average scores ranged from 3.3 to 3.5 and between 87% to 94% of the students sampled performed at level 3 or 4 on a four-point scale rubric.

Average scores ranged from 3 to 3.2. Between 69% to 88% of the students sampled performed at level 3 or 4 on a four-point scale rubric.

Objective 2 Students will analyze and integrate the impact of global forces in business decisions.

In this second round of assessment, student performance met the established threshold on criterion 3 but fell short on criterion 4 of the four-point scale rubric. Only 55% of the students performed at level 3 or above on identification of cultural factors (criterion 4).
