Outcome ILLUST:A Problem Solving

Graduates of Studio Art with an emphasis in Illustration will be able to design and evaluate strategies to answer open-ended questions.
Objective 1 Students in ART 281 Intro to Illustration will create finished illustrations that solve client-based problems in specific illustration areas (advertising, editorial, story) based on idea generation techniques.

The free writing and word tree activity went well – some had to be reminded to not evaluate during the brainstorming portion, but overall I saw progressing skills in this area.

Outcome ILLUST:B Information Literacy

Graduates of Studio Art with an emphasis in Illustration will be able to identify, access, evaluate, and synthesize multiple forms of information.
Objective 1 Students in ART 381 Intermediate Illustration I will demonstrate their knowledge and ability to create and save files in appropriate output formats.

Outcome ILLUST:C Oral Communication

Graduates of Studio Art with an emphasis in Illustration will be able to effectively communicate verbally with a public audience across a variety of contexts.
Objective 1 Students in ART 382 Intermediate Illustration II will able to develop a presentation of their stories to the standards of the pitch process.

Outcome ILLUST:D Integration

Graduates of Studio Art with an emphasis in Illustration will be able to synthesize and apply knowledge, experience, and multiple perspectives to new, complex situations.
Objective 1 Students in ART 413 Portfolio will develop and refine their professional portfolio.

Graduates of Studio Art with an emphasis in Illustration will be able to write effectively for multiple purposes and audiences.
Objective 1 Students in ART 482 Advanced Illustration I will be able to create professional quality written and oral proposals, and formal presentations of final artwork.
