Outcome A Leadership

Students will demonstrate principles of leadership in their employment and community involvements.

This is an important SLO that we seem to be teaching successfully and empirically measuring the result. We'd like to see the findings value increase as we just met the minimum target. There are two different instructors teaching this course and we will work on ensuring that we are aligned with the measure and grading rubric.

Outcome E Problem Solving

Analyze and solve problems using qualitative and quantitative tools.
Objective 11 Students will demonstrate qualitative and quantitative research skills via a research project.

89% of students earned an 80% or better on their research paper in one section.. In a different section (taught by a different instructor) In the Winter 2019, HTM 375 course, 86% of students passed the research project with and without the presentation portion of the research study included. Of the two who did not pass in both sections, one student stopped attending mid March (we did reconnect at the end but she will have to redo the course), and the other missed many classes, but met with me and tried to pull it all together at the end. This student passed with a C- in class overall.

In HTM 452 during the Winter 2019, students accomplished 80% overall when I included the presentation portion of the marketing plan. Without this element, 73% of students passed with 80% or better overall. In both instances, those students NOT passing did so because they did NOT complete at least one of the 11 assignments within the plan. Of those students who attempted every assignment, 100% passed with an 80% or better.
