Outcome PNA 1 PNA - Collaboration (undergraduate)

Students will work together and share the workload equitably to progress toward shared objectives learned through structured activities that occur over a significant period of time.
Objective 0 Collaboration (undergraduate): Work together and share the workload equitably to progress toward shared objectives learned through structured activities that occur over a significant period of time. The objectives associated with this Outcome are listed below. Students will: • Use knowledge of group dynamics to select appropriate roles. • Use knowledge of group management to create effective plans. • Successfully follow the group's plan. • Assess contributions of self and others to the group dynamics.

Students produced four written grants for local nonprofits. We will follow up to determine if any of these agencies received grant funding from the partnership/collaboration with students.

Students completed six signature group projects, which allowed students to be exposed to diverse perspectives and an opportunity to gain a better understanding of civic and community engagements.

Outcome PNA 2 PNA Critical Thinking (undergraduate)

Use systematic reasoning to examine and evaluate information and ideas and then synthesize conclusions to propose new perspectives and solutions.

Outcome PNA 3 PNA - Ethical Reasoning (undergraduate)

Students will use a decision-making process based on defining systems of value. In addition, students will examine the importance of ethical leadership to the success of high performing public and nonprofit agencies.

In addition, students will examine the importance of ethical leadership to the success of high performing public and nonprofit agencies. The objectives associated with this Outcome are listed below. Students will: • Recognize ethical issues when presented in a complex situation. • Demonstrate understanding of key concepts and principles underlying various systems of reasoning. • Accurately apply ethical theories and terms to situations. • Demonstrate the ability to deal constructively with ambiguity and disagreement.

A comprehensive final exam was administered at the end of the semester. All but one student, passed the final examination with a score of 75% or higher.

Students will effectively communicate verbally with a public audience across a variety of contexts.

Objective 32 Oral Communication (undergraduate): Effectively communicate verbally with a public audience across a variety of contexts. The objectives associated with this Outcome are listed below. Students will: • Develop content appropriate to the presentation. • Organize the content in a logical manner appropriate for the intended audience. • Demonstrate evidence of rehearsal during the formal presentation. • Demonstrate effective formal presentation skills.

Students presented a ten minute oral presentation on their volunteer experience. The purpose of the presentations allowed students to present subject content in an organized, concise and effective manner.

Outcome PNA 7 PNA - Written Communication (undergraduate)

Write effectively for multiple purposes and audiences. Students will develop content that is appropriate to a specific disciplinary or professional context, drawing upon relevant sources. In addition to being able to organize written material to suit the purposes of the document and meet the needs of the intended audience.

Students will: • Develop content that is appropriate to a specific disciplinary or professional context, drawing upon relevant sources. • Organize written material to suit the purposes of the document and meet the needs of the intended audience. • Express ideas using language that meets the needs and expectations of the intended audience. • Use conventions of grammar, punctuation, usage, formatting, and citation appropriate to the specific writing situation.
