Big Data Ignite 2021 Webinar Series
October 06, 2021
Big Data Ignite starts a month-long webinar series
today. Participation is free, but requires registration. You can
find details and register at bigdataignite.org.
There are many interesting presentations scheduled. Here are a
few of them that come early in the series and might be especially
interesting to students. Full titles and abstracts appear
below (and at bigdataignite.org)
10/7: Looks like this talk will use methods that might be
familiar to you from statistics and data science classes. The
application area may be of interest as well.
10/12: The speaker has been involved in various “data for good”
projects for a long time. This particular talk is about
disproportional impact of COVID-19 on marginalized communities
10/14: Michael Bloem is a Calvin University alum currently
working at Amazon. He is going to give some reflections on his data
science career so far. This could be especially interesting to data
science majors who want a glimpse into a possible future. Also,
Michael is a very good presenter.
