What can I do with a sociology major?
It is rare to find sociologist as a job title. A bachelor's degree in sociology does not directly lead to a job with the title of sociologist. Instead, sociology is more likely to be listed as a preferred or suggested degree major for a job, but that does not mean jobs with sociology listed in a preferred or suggested degree major description are the only jobs available. You will find hidden sociologists, or those who research social change and interactions using research, in jobs across the labor market because sociology is the study of people as they relate and interact, and people interact everywhere! There are some fields and career paths where you will find more people who majored in sociology than in others. A degree in sociology also makes a great bachelor's major or minor for graduate and professional schools, but sociology is more closely relevant to fields related to policy, community, health, education, labor, nonprofit spaces, and social research.
