Bio

Maureen E. Wolverton is a Senior Affiliate Faculty member in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies at Grand Valley State University, where she has taught since 2001. She holds a masterýs degree in Mythological Studies from Pacifica Graduate Institute and a bachelorýs degree in business from Michigan State University, bringing a broad academic and professional perspective to her interdisciplinary teaching.Her commitment to student engagement and innovative pedagogy has been recognized with multiple honors, including the GVSU Pew FTLC Teaching Excellence Award and the Pew FTLC Teaching with Technology Award. In addition to her teaching, Maureen provides departmental leadership as Course Coordinator for INT 100 and INT 314.Beyond the university, Maureen is deeply involved in her community. She serves as Secretary and Trustee on the Greenville Public Schools Board of Education and as a Trustee for the Education Foundation of Greenville, where she co-chairs the Dancing with the Local Stars fundraising committee. Under her leadership, the event has raised more than $200,000 in the past five years to support mental health initiatives in Greenville Public Schools, including ongoing funding for the districtýs comfort dog program.
