Bio
Ari Mokdad serves as an affiliate faculty member at Grand Valley State University, where she has previously held positions as a visiting and adjunct professor. Currently, she is the Interim Director of the Leadership and Professional Innovation B.A.S. programs within the Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies. Her creative and scholarly endeavors focus on the natural world, visceral and eco-poetics, intersectionality, embodiment, and interdisciplinary creativity. Professor Mokdad is an award-winning poet and choreographer, with her work presented at a variety of regional, national, and international venues. She earned her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Warren Wilson College, supported by a Rona Jaffe Foundation Graduate Fellowship, and holds a Master of Arts in English from Wayne State University. Additionally, she completed doctoral studies in Composition and Rhetoric at Wayne State University. Ari is a proud Laker, having received three Bachelor of Arts degrees from Grand Valley State University in Dance, English, and Writing.
