Food for Fines
Starting on Tuesday, November 4, University Libraries will be running a special initiative as part of this year’s Day of Giving Food Drive. With federal SNAP benefits set to end in November, we anticipate that access to affordable food will become increasingly difficult this winter. To help ensure Replenish can continue supporting food-insecure members of our community, the Library will launch a "Food for Fines" program next week.
Here’s how it works:
- Students who donate 5 food items will have their library book fees forgiven.
- The food drive will run November 4 – December 2 at all three Libraries locations on both City and Valley campuses: Frey (2nd floor, DCIH), Steelcase (DEV A) and Mary Idema Pew (Allendale) front desks.
If you’re able to give, please consider supporting our students by donating non-perishable goods or contributing directly.
Thank you for helping us make a difference and please let me know if you have any questions. [email protected] or text 616-818-0219
