2026 Students Scholars Day and Award Ceremony

On Wednesday, April 8th, faculty, family members, and friends celebrated student achievements at the 2026 Students Scholars Day and PSY Award Ceremony. Student researchers presented posters around campus throughout the day for Student Scholars Day. At the psychology specific event, faculty presented awards recognizing students' academic, research, and leadership accomplishments. Afterwards, students researchers gave 15-minute presentations on a variety of different research topics including, but not limited to, emotional socialization, an intergenerational mentoring program, and artificial intelligence use.

 

The Psychology Department Excellence Awards were awarded to the following individuals:

Robert Henderson Leadership Award - Madelyn Howe

Research Excellence (Psychology) – Tessa Kramer

Research Excellence (Behavioral Neuroscience) – Victoria Airo

Academic Excellence (Psychology) – Adam Hinbern

Academic Excellence (Behavioral Neuroscience) – Kayla Helferich

 

Faculty also recognized psychology and behavioral neuroscience students who received other awards around campus: 

Provost’s Excellence in a Discipline Award (Psychology) – Tessa Kramer

Provost’s Excellence in a Discipline Award (Behavioral Neuroscience) & Glenn A. Niemeyer Award – Arnica Sheaffer
