Credit by exams are exams that are developed and administered by nationally recognized boards.  Grand Valley reviews and accepts test results with sufficiently high scores for college credit.

If you are interested in a CLEP test, you can also consider first taking a FREE, online, four week course that will prepare you for the CLEP test you want to take.  If you complete the course, not only are you prepared to take the test, but you will receive a voucher to take the CLEP test.  You can find more information here: https://modernstates.org/

• Challenge exams are developed and assessed by faculty in that department.
• Cost is variable, math and language tests are free.  Engineering is $50-$100.
