T. Haas is always there to support students. He allowed me to shadow him one day, and I was able to gain a real look into the job of a university president and network with community members of GVSU and the Greater Grand Rapids area. President Haas is also always supporting students in a number of ways from attending various events, opening doors for students, saying hello in passing, and taking selfies upon request.

T. Haas - Your personal relationship(s) with each and every student at GVSU truly makes you one-of-a-kind. From your visible and engaged presence at sporting events, to your witty beginning of semester video's, you know how to interact with students and faculty alike, and make us all proud to be Lakers. Congratulations on 10 years as GVSU President and best wishes for the next 10 years. Go Lakers!

President Haas is incredibly approachable and always looks out for the best interests of students. He makes it a point to connect with every single person he meets, and he affected my time at Grand Valley by making the university more well respected than it already was. I'm proud to have graduated from GVSU and President Haas was and still is a huge reason as to why I believe my experience was incredibly positive and beneficial both personally and professionally.

T. Haas is an amazing president who continuously strives to connect the Michigan communities with his students. I've had the pleasure of interacting with T. Haas as a student and as an employer; always seeking new ways to engage his students and alumni with new and unique opportunities. A true gem. Had the opportunity to give him a tour of Quicken Loans, my employer, with several fellow GVSU alum.

One morning I was sitting on a bench on campus stressing out over an exam and President Thomas J. Haas was walking by and took the time to walk over to the bench to tell me "Good morning Laker, have an awesome day!".

My boyfriend, now husband, and I were at the first home game in Fall 2008. T. Haas joined the already crowded student section and cheered along with the rest of us. Before leaving, he made sure to greet as many of us as he could.

I was in undergrad when T. Haas came to GVSU, and he's been nothing short of amazing to talk to and get to know. He used to come in the student section with us and get a little rowdy during football games. Tell ya what though... guy doesn't play any defense on the basketball court. You'll see him camping at the top of the key, ready to shoot the 3-ball.

All jokes aside, President Haas has been an amazing ambassador for Grand Valley State University. Attached is the only photo I have of him and I - my undergrad graduation.

As a transfer student, I was also so impressed by how visible President Haas was around campus-not just seeing him walking around, but actually stopping to speak with student about our studies! I didn't participate in commencement, but I was thrilled to still get some time with T. Haas when I ran into him at a conference shortly after graduation in my new position. Thanks T. Haas for everything, here's to 10 more!

I remember during a tailgate we were playing cornhole and out of no where this guy grabs the bag out of my hand.. it was T. Haas. Appreciate all you do for the GV community!

When I moved in to Kistler as a Freshman in the 2014-2015 school year, it was a really hot day. There was a guy giving out free ice cream, so of course I jumped on the opportunity! Later I found out it was President T. Haas and was so excited that he was welcoming students in a memorable way (and I felt bad I didn't know who he was)! Go T. Haas!
