A group of three Grand Valley engineering students received second place in the prestigious SME Digital Manufacturing Challenge for designing a device that could be used to harvest fog to provide clean drinking water in places where it is needed.

Engineering Alum Develops Respirator and Establishes 3D Printing Network in Response to COVID-19

Jordan Vanderham, 2018 PDM Engineering graduate and President of Vandergen/ Orindi, partnered with a medical device manufacturer to develop a respirator and helped establish 3DC19, a community-organizing effort to develop PPE using 3D printers.
