Dr. Lilia Fernandez is associate professor of history at The Ohio State University. She specializes in 20th century Latino history and has published numerous essays on Mexican American community formation. Her book, Brown in the Windy City: Mexicans and Puerto Ricans in Postwar Chicago, is the first to document the history of these populations in the city after World War II.
