The Grand Valley Piano Chamber Series presents its sixth season: “Viennese Dreams!” This concert, Program IV of the season, presents the well-known “Trout” Quintet by Schubert as well as lesser-known flute duets by Franz Doppler, who was the principal flutist and conductor for the Vienna Court Opera. Doppler’s duets showcase the performers’ exquisite technique and charming musical sense. Schubert’s “Trout” stems from his popular song “Die Forelle” (The Trout) and is written for an unusual instrumentation of piano, violin, viola, cello, and double bass. Musicians from the Grand Rapids Symphony, as well as Bridget Pei from the Seattle Symphony, join GVPCS Artistic Director, Sookkyung Cho.
