On Friday, October 23, 2026, Grand Valley State University will host a hands-on reed-making event designed for middle and high school students, as well as community members and oboe enthusiasts of all levels. The workshop will be led by Dr. Marlen Vavrikova, Professor of Oboe at GVSU, and will offer expert instruction, tools, and tips in a supportive and collaborative environment. Whether you are new to reed-making or looking to refine your skills, you will gain practical experience and leave with reeds you have crafted yourself. Space is limited, and registration will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis.
The deadline to register is October 16, 2026.
