Practicum

Practicum Requirements

Those majoring in Leadership and Business Fundamentals are required to complete at least 3 credits of BAS 491 Practicum in Applied Science. In BAS 491, students will apply integrative, interdisciplinary principles drawn from their major emphasis in a professional, public, or community setting. Examples could be a case study, field involvement, conference or workshop attendance, or a special project developed in consultation with faculty. Students’ practicum experience should approximate 50 hours of work per credit hour.

Students can complete projects involving online research and/or readings, reflective work on a topic of your choosing, and/or a final project. Students can also choose applied projects in their communities or workplaces, but these projects should build upon their existing coursework and should not replicate other projects that are not connected to their education.
