Ariel Mokdad, Interim Director

Professor Mokdad holds an MFA in Creative Writing and Poetry from Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC and an MA in English and Creative Writing from Wayne State University. She is also trained in dance, and is an active choreographer, performer, and dance teacher at dance and ballet schools across the state. Prof. Mokdad also works as the Education Director for the National Writers Series non-profit in Traverse City. She is an Affiliate Faculty member in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies at Grand Valley and has also taught at Wayne State, and Northwestern Michigan College.

Ginele Johnson, Academic Department Coordinator

Ginele is a Grand Valley alumna with a B.S. in Communications. She serves as the Academic Coordinator for the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Department, as well as the Digital Studies and Human Rights programs. Prior to joining the team in Brooks College, Ginele served as a marketing administrative assistant in the grocery industry and collegiate athletics, was a small business owner and most recently, served as office secretary in the K-12 public school system.
