GVSU Student Nurses' Association receives Stellar School Chapter Recognition

The Grand Valley State University Student Nurses’ Association (SNA) received a renewal of the National Student Nurses’ Association designation as an NSNA Stellar School Chapter. This recognition recognizes GVSU’s ongoing involvement in NSNA and their commitment to shared governance and professional development.

The GVSU Student Nurses’ Association is a professional organization for student nurses that are dedicated to empowering future nurses through student assistance and service at the local, state, national, and global levels.

“Being recognized as an NSNA Stellar School is a huge accomplishment for GVSU's Student Nurses' Association. As one of only 34 schools in the nation with this award, the recognition speaks highly to SNA's commitment to professional development and community service,” shares current GVSU Student Nurses’ Association President, Lydia Cooper.

This year, SNA developed a mentorship program with KCON's Graduate Student Organization, which seeks to bridge the gap between BSN education and transition to the workforce or into graduate school.

“I'm proud of SNA's desire to prepare student nurses for their future careers and the dozens of ways that SNA promotes community service and involvement in the greater Grand Rapids community,” says Cooper.
