KCON announces new Wesorick Center Executive Director

Grand Valley State University’s Kirkhoff College of Nursing (KCON) is excited to announce the hiring of Dr. Leanne Mauriello as the next Executive Director of The Bonnie Wesorick Center for Health Care Transformation.
As an endowed Center housed within KCON, The Wesorick Center is dedicated to promoting and facilitating interdisciplinary scholarly work to advance knowledge of health care delivery for the purpose of transforming the way health care is provided at multiple and diverse points of care. Bearing the name of Bonnie Wesorick - a visionary nurse, educator, and innovator – the Center’s mission is to help KCON and the broader health care community work across healthcare teams to find better health care solutions for patients.
With a career shaped by a passion for healthcare transformation and innovation, Dr. Mauriello joins the Wesorick Center with 20 years of experience across the healthcare landscape. Her career highlights extend across industry and academia, and includes:
- Launching and leading the Lifestyle Medicine department and medical specialty at Corewell Health;
- Designing, testing and disseminating digital health care solutions that were funded through multi-million-dollar Small Business Innovation Research grants
- Building a successful consulting company that currently advises and supports healthcare transformation projects globally.
In her new role, Dr. Mauriello will utilize her combination of interests, passions, and experiences as she builds upon the innovative work of The Wesorick Center to partner with leaders regionally and nationally to reimagine and reignite the Center’s pivotal role in interprofessional point-of-care health care transformation.
Dr. Mauriello shared how this role uniquely aligns her passion and purpose. “It’s an honor,” she noted, “It is exactly the kind of meaningful, high impact, and transformative work that I relish. I am excited to get started and continue the visionary work of Bonnie Wesorick.”
