Change of Level

If you are switching from one degree level to another, this needs to be processed in SEVIS as a Change of Level. Please submit your changes here and we will update your SEVIS record accordingly. Please note that you must be admitted to the new program/major, have provided adequate proof of finances to your Laker Portal, and your new program/major must be reflected in Banner as well.

Processing Time: Change of Level requests are processed based on when all the requirements are met. This means the processing time varies and we cannot guarantee a turn-around time for this type of request.

If your F-1 visa stamp expires before you exit the USA or while you are outside the USA, please plan ahead to apply for a new visa stamp in your country of citizenship. You will need a valid F-1 visa stamp in order to re-enter the USA (unless you are a citizen of Canada--in which case you only need an updated I-20).
