The surge in hate crimes against Asian Americans has spiked protests and conversations on race and racism in America. These conversations include the unique experience of growing up Asian, adopted in a white family. For more, KCBS Radio's Liz Saint John spoke to Kim McKee, a professor at Grand Valley State University in Michigan and author of a book about Korean adoption titled Disrupting Kinship: Trans-national Politics of Korean Adoption in the United States.
