Description
To acknowledge and celebrate Cinco de Mayo, The GRAM Studio will be guiding us through colorful Papel Picado. A traditional Mexican craft, Papel Picado translates to "punched" or "perforated" paper. We will be cutting intricate designs into colored paper, then constructing them into a banner, time permitting.
Participants will need scissors and/or an X-acto knife, 2-4, approximately 9" x 12" sheets of tissue paper in assorted colors, pencil or marker and an optional 36" piece of yarn and tape for display. (x-actos are highly encouraged for those comfortable working with them, as it allows for more intricate designs) If using an X-acto, a safe cutting surface, such as a cutting mat, will be needed.
The event is free, but registration is required.
