Biography
Community organizing is what brings me to this work. I am constantly learning and implementing ways to connect with people (in and out of my own box); to make an initial engagement but then to also find common ground...a shared pool of meaning... that puts us as a community into a like-minded space to act for social justice. Wherever I can use my voice and sit in spaces with others leads to more information sharing. As the saying goes ""We don't know what we don't know"". I can't question processes or give insight if I'm not a part of the conversation. Justice and equity have to be in every space. I want to use my voice and sit in spaces with others leads to more information sharing. As the saying goes "We don't know what we don't know". I can't question processes or give insight if I'm not a part of the conversation. Justice and equity have to be in every space. And, I hope that when I facilitate it's not about me talking AT YOU, but about the room as a whole connecting, building trust, and finding at least one person to dig deep into joy, strategizing, and finding ways to support each other in thriving. When I facilitate it has to be a conversation and I hope in that we enlighten each other and it makes us all reflect and re-examine our beliefs and habits. I especially hope to cultivate spaces of bravery and vulnerability in which we lean on each other and even outside our time together remember each other as resources and spread awareness to what is available for everyone to access.
